MILLERSVILLE, Pa.—Villanova (7-8) gave itself early momentum by sweeping the doubles matches and then won five singles matches in a 6-1 victory over Millersville (2-6) at the McComsey Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon. The win is the second straight for the Wildcats, who have gotten improved doubles play in all three spots in the lineup over the last three matches.

Matthew Jones (Dallas, Texas) and freshman
Josh Robinson (Potomac, Md.) kept rolling in Tuesday's match against the Marauders with a 6-2 win over Ben Fellman and Ting-Yu Yen in the No. 2 doubles match. Jones and Robinson have won four straight matches to run their record to 10-3 on the year.
Sophomore
Alex Kim (Cary, N.C.) and senior
Daniel Martinez (Coral Gables, Fla.) outlasted Carlos Martinez-Lucas and Frank Yanni in a tiebreaker to win their No. 1 doubles match against Millersville. They recorded a 7-6 (8-6) victory, while sophomore
Justin Suarez (Manila, Philippines) and freshman
Anthony Prokurat (Manalapan, N.J.) earned a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Brandon Miller and Zach Pernia.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the match with the doubles point, the Wildcats captured wins in the second through sixth singles positions. Each of those wins were in straight sets, including a dominant performance by freshman
Ryan Nguyen (Oakton, Va.) in the No. 6 spot as he blanked Matt Hidalgo in a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Nguyen has won five of the seven matches he has played in the sixth spot in the lineup and is 7-4 overall on the year.
Freshman
Eitan Khromchenko (Manalapan, N.J.) tallied his team-high eighth singles won of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Fellman at No. 3 singles. Khromchenko has played 13 of his 14 matches in the No. 3 spot and is 8-6 overall this season. Robinson powered his way to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Yanni in the No. 2 singles match, while sophomore
Daniel Cheng (Los Angeles, Calif.) was a 6-1, 6-4 winner in a No. 4 singles match against Pernia. Prokurat rounded out the list of winners with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Yen in the fifth spot of the lineup.
Villanova returns home this coming Saturday for a 12 p.m. match against Georgetown.
