Career: Established himself as an important player in the Villanova lineup during his career … Was third on the team in singles wins the past two years and owns career records of 51-53 in singles play and 11-27 in doubles matches … His career success includes 19 wins in tournament competition and 32 victories in dual matches … Posted a win in the quarterfinal round of the BIG EAST Championships against Marquette his freshman year … During his collegiate career has been a four-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and a seven-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. 

2023-24: Finished the season with a 10-17 mark in singles competition and a 2-2 record in doubles play... Ranked third on the Wildcats in singles wins... Earned both doubles wins during the Villanova Invitational... Played most singles matches out of the second spot collecting a 2-5 record... Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team... Selected twice to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2022-23: Totaled the second most singles wins for the Wildcats with 15 during his junior campaign … Contributed a 11-12 mark in dual singles matches with four victories as both the fourth and fifth competitor in the VU lineup … Collected five wins in doubles play, four of which came during the tournament slate … Won four contests when teamed with Will Gatti and one match as the partner of senior Justin Suarez... Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team... Selected twice to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll

2021-22: Led the team with 17 singles wins on the year … Had an overall record of 17-14, including an 11-4 mark in Fall tournaments to go along with six victories in dual matches … Advanced to the championship match of the Flight 4 singles draw at Saint Joseph’s before falling in a narrow tiebreaker (6-3, 6-7, 10-7) to an opponent from Lehigh in the final … Won two matches at the River City Tennis Open to finish second in his flight … Scored the clinching point in a 4-3 win over Jefferson in the Spring opener with a straight-sets win at No. 6 singles … His other wins during dual competition came against Coppin State, Xavier, Loyola (Md.), Marquette and Drexel … He and Will Gatti teamed up to win a Round of 128 matches in the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship … Teamed with Alex Kim to finish sixth out of 16 teams in the Blue draw at the Villanova Invitational.
 
2020-21: Emerged as one of the key performers for the Wildcats during his freshman season … Tied for third on the team with nine singles victories and finished the year with a 9-6 (.600) mark, including a pair of wins in the No. 5 singles spot and a 7-3 record in the sixth spot of the lineup … In the BIG EAST quarterfinal round against #3 seed Marquette tallied the only Villanova point when he outlasted his opponent at No. 6 singles to win in three sets (6-3, 0-6, 6-4) … Was inserted into the lineup for the first time when Villanova played Coppin State and he promptly won his collegiate debut at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0) without dropping a single game … Later in the year had a four-match winning streak at No. 6 singles when he reeled off victories over opponents from NJIT, Millersville, Georgetown and Penn … His other wins came in the sixth spot against La Salle and Saint Joseph’s, as well as at No. 5 singles against Mount St. Mary’s when he helped the Wildcats rally for a 4-3 team victory … Played a pair of doubles matches with sophomore teammate Alex Kim at No. 1 doubles and the pair was defeated in matches against Saint Joseph’s and Penn.
 
Oakton High School: Played two years of varsity tennis as a freshman and a sophomore … Named the MVP as a freshman in 2016-17 and was the team’s first-ever freshman to be chosen as the MVP … Had an overall regular season record of 17-2 at the No. 2 singles position … Won a regional doubles title his sophomore year … Team was a state runner-up in 2016-17 … Inducted to the National Honor Society … Two-year winner of the Scholar-Athlete award.
 
Personal: Born 8/9/02 in Oakton, Va. … One of three children of Joe and Maria Nguyen … Siblings are Nick (22) and Isabelle (15) … Enjoys playing Xbox and the Madden NFL series in particular … Also enjoys spending time with friends and attending Friday night football and high school basketball games with them … Chose to attend Villanova for its great athletics program and the reputation of the Villanova School of Business … Noted his comfort level with the coaching staff and members of the team upon visiting campus … Enrolled in the Villanova School of Business and plans to major in Finance.
