VILLANOVA, Pa. – The women's swimming and diving team earned a 186-113 victory over James Madison on Saturday afternoon, marking back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Villanova opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay as
Kayla Bolster,
Winnie Jalet,
Anna Farley and
Riley Kudlac touched first in 1:45.33.
The Wildcats continued with a sweep of the top three spots in the 1000 Free.
Peri Gaguzis led the way with a winning time of 10:24.06, followed closely by
Katie White (10:25.21) and
Marlene Blanke (10:42.14).
Alana Leen delivered strong performances in the backstroke events, claiming victories in both the 100 Back (56.96) and the 200 Back (2:01.88).
Jalet also added a pair of wins in the 100 Breast (1:03.17) and the 200 Breast (2:19.62).
Meghan Tiernan picked up two individual victories for the Wildcats, winning the 200 Fly in 2:03.80 and the 500 Free in 5:02.16.
Villanova also earned wins from
Carlota Colomer Guasch in the 50 Free (23.73),
Anna Kilponen in the 100 Fly (55.40) and Leen in the 200 IM (2:06.52).
Meghan Scott led Villanova on the boards with a third-place finish on the 3-meter dive, scoring 271.35 points, while
Michelle Kasulka scored points for the Wildcats in both diving events.
The Villanova A relay team wrapped up the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:29.34.
Next up, the Villanova men will host Seton Hall on Jan. 22. Diving is set to begin at 5 p.m., followed by swimming.
