VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's swimming and diving team earned a 168-132 victory over Richmond on Friday afternoon.
The Wildcats started off strong on the boards with a podium sweep in the 3 Meter.
Michelle Kasulka placed first and set a new personal best with a score of 275.48.
Katie Vaughan placed second (258.98), followed by
Alexa Fegley in third (255.45) and
Meghan Scott in fourth (254.70).
In the 1 Meter Dive, Scott secured third with a score of 242.33, while
Caroline Blankenbecler finished fourth with a score of 241.13.
In the 400 Medley Relay, the A team took first in 3:47.29, and the B team second in 3:52.04.
Peri Gaguzis claimed the top spot in the 1000 Free, posting a time of 10:29.42, while
Marlene Blanke finished third at 10:34.57. Gaguzis later added a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:05.78, narrowly trailing
Katie White, who won the event in 5:05.61.
Alana Leen recorded a pair of wins in the 100 Back (57.11) and 200 Back (2:01.88), while
Arabella Lee placed third in the 100 Back (57.64).
Winnie Jalet led the Wildcats in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:03.95, followed closely by
Emily Herr in third (1:06.06).
The Wildcats swept the 100 Fly, led by
Anna Farley's first-place finish in 2:03.92. White followed in second (2:04.36),
Anna Kilponen placed third (2:04.64) and
Meghan Tiernan rounded out the sweep in fourth (2:05.55).
Farley also finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.59, followed by Tiernan in third (2:07.91).
In the 100 Fly, Kilponen and
Annie Mee tied for second, both touching the wall in 56.52.
The women will be back in the pool tomorrow to face James Madison. Action is set to begin with diving at 11 a.m., followed by swimming.
