NEW YORK -- For the second time in as many weeks, Villanova volleyball's
Campbell McKinnon earned a BIG EAST major weekly award as the middle blocker picked up Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
McKinnon becomes the first Wildcat since Allison Fitzgerald in 2017 to win a pair of Player of the Week nods in one season and only the seventh Villanova volleyball player ever to earn multiple POTW honors in their careers.
The Tennessee native totaled 12 blocks in just a pair of matches and seven sets played this week, contributing a half dozen rejections in both of her outings.
The sophomore was named the Player of the Match in Villanova's Sunday win at Old Dominion after hitting .706 with 17 points combined on the afternoon to follow up a seven-kill, six-block effort at Temple in the midweek.
McKinnon and the Wildcats will close out the non-conference slate this week, heading to Vermillion, S.D., to take part in the South Dakota Classic from Sept. 18-20.
