GILBERT, Ariz. -- Villanova Women's Tennis was well-represented on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2025 Division I Academic Awards roll out this season. The team garnered All-Academic Team laurels with nine Wildcats earning a spot on the Scholar-Athletes list.
In 2025, 1,462 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. This is the third consecutive year that the team has earned All-Academic Team honors and the sixth time since 2005. Villanova's nine honorees were
Emma Brogan,
Emi Callahan,
Sophia Edwards,
Chloe Floyd,
Maggie Gehrig,
Miriam Gondorova,
Valieriia Kornieva,
Savie Seebald and
Jenna Stevens. Callahan, Floyd and Seebald have each been named to the team for three consecutive seasons.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must either have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year or be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
