On Saturday, the Villanova Wildcats will head to College Park, Maryland to face the No. 4 Maryland Terrapins. The weekend matchup will feature the first ever meeting between the two schools. Both teams enter the game coming off of wins, with Villanova (2-5) defeating La Salle Wednesday 14-3, while an undefeated Maryland (5-0) beat William & Mary Saturday 19-7.

Last time out, in a midweek matchup against La Salle, the Wildcats earned their second win of the season. A balanced offensive attack fueled the win, as 10 different Wildcats scored in the game. Senior Olivia Piccirilli had a career day against the Explorers recording a hat-trick and one assist. Fellow classmate Libby McKenna and freshman Sami Carey each added two goals a piece. The three goals for La Salle are the fewest a team has scored against Villanova since 2011. 

Maryland will host Villanova after traveling to William & Mary one week ago. In five wins this season, the Terrapins have defeated two top 15 teams in the IWLCA Divison I poll. For their efforts last week, two players earned Big Ten Weekly Honors, as Abby Bosco was named Defender of the Week and Jordyn Lipkin garnered Freshman of the Week. 

Saturday's game will feature two of the country's top midfielders in the draw center as Villanova's Caroline Curnal who ranks fifth (8.17) in draw controls per game and Maryland's Shaylan Ahearn, who leads the Big Ten and ranks eighth (7.80) in DI that category will face off. 

The game will be streamed on Big Ten Plus with a start time of 1 p.m. Saturday.
