Triple Meet Week Ahead for the Wildcats

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova swimming and diving teams face a busy three-meet week, beginning Friday with the men hosting Seton Hall. The Wildcats then head on the road to face Pittsburgh on Friday before closing the week at West Virginia on Saturday.

The last time the men faced Seton Hall was in 2021, when the Wildcats fell 68-191. At last season's BIG EAST Championships, Seton Hall placed second with 709 points, while Villanova finished fourth with 588.

The matchup is set to begin with diving at 5 p.m., followed by swimming at the Villanova Swim Complex.

Villanova also suffered a dual loss to Pittsburgh in 2022. The women fell 121.5-176.5, while the men were defeated 68-229. That meet is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. at the Trees Pool.

The Wildcats will conclude the week with a road trip to take on West Virginia. Last season, the men fell 52.5-247.5, while the women earned wins over Duquesne (184.5-115.5) and West Virginia (160-140).

Standout swimmers included Patrick Casey, who posted a personal best of 15:53.96 in the 1650 free to place second, and Justin Nowicki, who touched first in the 200 Fly (1:49.31).

On the women's side, Meghan Tiernan captured the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.87, while Anna Farley earned a win in the 100 Fly (54.15).

Both teams will wrap up the regular season with SprintFest Senior Day on Jan. 31.
