VILLANOVA, PA-  Villanova women's lacrosse will face #1 seed Denver in the BIG EAST Championships Saturday morning. 

The Wildcats have made a handful of BIG EAST Tournament appearances but this will be there first time playing in the Championship. Denver has won the last four Championships, starting there streak in 2021.

Villanova is coming off of an exciting win over UConn in the semifinals, with a final score of 16-10. Jillian Vaught earned herself a hat trick, leading the game in goals. Juliet Walls and Cate Gallagher led the game in cased turnovers, with four each.

Denver took down Georgetown in the seminfinals 20-9. The Pioneers coaching staff as been named BIG EAST Co-Coaching Staff of the Year, sharing the title with the Hoyas coaching staff. Lareun Black was named BIG EAST Attacker of the Year and Emelia Bohi was selected as BIG EAST Goalie of the Year. In Denvers game against the Hoyas, Black had two goals and one assist with Bohi totaling nine saves.

The last time Villanova face Denver in the regular season, the 'Cats were defeated 7-17. Sydney Pappas totaled two goals and Leslie Iorio had one goal and two assists.

Opening draw is set for 11a.m. at the Villanova Stadium.
