VILLANOVA, PA - Villanova women's lacrosse will face off against the UConn Huskies at 4pm in today's BIG EAST Semifinals.
The Wildcats took down UConn in the regular season 11-7, for their first win over the Huskies. Villanova finished the season 10-6 while UConn went 11-5, with both teams going 4-2 in league play.
The Huskies Addy Beran was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The team had five other players selected for All-BIG EAST First and Second teams.
The Wildcats scored a league high of eight selected 'Cats for the 2025 All-BIG EAST First and Second teams. With
Emma Verhoest getting unanimously named on the First Team.
The Wildcats lead the conference in four stats with
Sami Carey topping assists and assists per game, Goals-against average goes to
Cate Gallagher and Verhoest leads with draw controls per game and is eight nationally.
Opening draw will be at 4pm at the Villanova Stadium, with Villanova going is seeded second and UConn seeded third.
