VILLANOVA, PA - Villanova women's lacrosse kicks off their conference play on Saturday as they host UConn. 

The Huskies travel to the main line with a 6-3 record to match the Wildcats.  This is the first game of BIG EAST play for both teams.

In the 2024 season, the Huskies took down the Wildcats 16-6. UConn has won over Villanova for the past three years, with the 'Cats winning in overtime 13-12 in the 2021 season.

Kate Shaffer and Morgan Carter led the Huskies with three goals in last years face off with both graduating last year. Jojo Gum dominated on defense with three caused turnrovers. Madelyn George led the game with 9 draw controls.

For the Wildcats, Sydney Pappas racked up two goals to lead the tame. Ashlyn Hickey tallied a goal and an assist. Makenzie Fisher led the game with 8 saves. On defense, Maddy Stoddard also had three caused turnovers.

Opening draw will take place at 1 p.m. at the Villanova Staduim.
