GU got the first three points of the second set, but it was all Wildcats from there as VU racked up a nine-point edge before a Georgetown timeout. The 'Cats maintained that momentum after the break, cruising to a 25-14 victory to move within one set of securing the match.
Villanova began the third stanza with four straight, but the Hoyas used a pair of 3-0 stretches to take their first lead of the period at 13-12. Once Georgetown's advantage got to 17-15, the Wildcats flipped the game on its head with a 7-0 run to establish a lead for good, sweeping the match in less than an hour and a half.
The Wildcats now move to 30-32 all-time against Georgetown after the victory, holding a 7-3 record in the last 10 contests and collecting a third straight W over the Hoyas.
