VILLANOVA, Pa. – 
Katie Comerford scored five goals, including her record-setting 139
th as a Wildcat, to help lead Villanova past Butler 15-10 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Villanova Stadium.
 
The Wildcats (5-7 overall, 3-3 BIG EAST) swept the two-game weekend series from the Bulldogs (0-7 overall, 0-6 BIG EAST).
Comerford moves past Meghan Doyle (1995-99) into first place on Villanova's all-time goals scored list. She also moved into a tie for the program record with assists (102) in today's win.
 
Haley Driscoll added three goals for the Wildcats while 
Alexa Tsahalis scored two.
 
Comerford's second goal of the afternoon and 23
rd of the season gave Villanova a 6-2 lead over Butler with 5:32 left to play in the first half. The Bulldogs, however, scored twice before halftime and added the first two scores of the second half to pull even at six after 5:29 of the second half.
 
Driscoll put the Wildcats back in front with her 18
th goal of the season off a feed from 
Catherine Field. But Butler got the next goal to again forge a tie at 7-7.
 
The 20
th goal of the season for 
Brittany Bruno at 19:22 gave the Wildcats the lead back at 8-7 and ignited a surge of five straight unanswered goals to put Nova into the drivers' seat at 12-7. Butler closed to within 13-10 but goals from Comerford and Field in the final 3:20 secured the victory for the Wildcats.
 
Villanova returns to action when it opens up a two-game weekend series against Connecticut at Villanova Stadium at noon Friday.
