PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- After a week off, Villanova's women's swimming and diving team was back in action on the road, taking to New Jersey to face Rutgers. While both teams put up fast times, it was the Wildcats who came away with the result by the slimmest of margins, 150.5-149.5.
Paced by 10 first-place finishes, Villanova was able to down its non-conference foe.
Bridie Dunn took home first in the 3m and 1m dives with scores of 249.68 and 244.50, respectively.
Milly Routledge claimed first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.76) and the 100 freestyle (51.19), while also taking second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.72.
Kaitlin Gravell placed first in the 200 backstroke with 2:21.23 and 200 IM in 2:06.31.
Nicole Welch dominated the distance events, netting two first-place finishes by touching first in the 1,000 freestyle (10:09.21) and the 500 freestyle (4:56.78).
Kelly Montesi swam 2:03.55 in the 200 butterfly, taking first in the process. She also took second in the 100 butterfly, swimming 55.96. The Wildcats turned in a first and third-place performance in the 400 freestyle relay.
Villanova earned second place in the 200 medley relay, going 1:45.19 in the event.
Micaela Grassi turned in a second-place performance in the 200 butterfly, going 2:06.53. The senior also finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.15.
Emily Provenzo took third in the 1,000 freestyle, swimming 10:24.33. She also took fourth in the 500, conceding third to Brenn McLaughlin (5:06.21) by .06.

Rayann Jaryszak placed third in the 200 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 200 IM, respectively.
The WIldcats will be back in action on Jan. 24 when they travel to Richmond to face the Spiders at 5:00 P.M.
