The Villanova women's lacrosse team (1-7) dropped their Sunday afternoon game to the Albany Great Danes (2-2) by a final of 14-2.
The Great Dane's started off strong going on a seven goal run over the first 25 minutes. Villanova's Devin Hassinger got the Wildcats on the board with 29 seconds left in the half on a successful free position shot, making the score 7-1 Albany at halftime.
Albany continued to dominate in the second half scoring seven more goals to Villanova's one. The Wildcats only goal in the second half came from gradute student Jackie Froccaro.
All three goalkeepers saw action today; Jaclyn Fraum got the start playing just over 7 minutes between the posts until Julia Michaels came in. Michaels played over 30 minutes and recorded three saves. Freshman Olivia Gonsalves saw her first minutes in goal this season; she had two saves in 20 minutes of action.
The Wildcats will return home next Saturday, March 19th to take on the Duke Blue Devils at 12 P.M.
