Villanova, Pa. - The Villanova women's lacrosse team (9-7, 4-3 BIG EAST) fell to the UConn Huskies (10-6, 5-2 BIG EAST) in a thrilling 14-11 match on Saturday afternoon in Villanova Stadium. While the Wildcats may not have come out on top with the victory, multiple Nova seniors showed standout performances in their final match on the Main Line.

With Saturday's games wrapped up after Nova's loss and Georgetown's nail-biting 13-12 victory over Temple the field now stands as follows: No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Georgetown, No. 3 UConn and No. 4 Villanova. With the Hoyas victory, Georgetown has grabbed its own piece of the 2015 Regular Season Championship with the ranked Gators. The Wildcats will battle it out against Florida on April 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Senior Jackie Froccaro tallied another record-breaking game as the aggressive attacker logged a new career and program high as Froccaro notched 12 of the team's 15 draw controls in the inner circle. Froccaro also tallied four goals and three ground balls against the Huskies.

Froccaro's 12 draw controls matched that of the entire UConn team which only gained control of 12 of the game's 27 opportunities.

Fellow co-captain Jessica Mucci gained another career accolade as the team's lead distributor achieved 100 career assists, adding the last two against the Huskies this afternoon.

Senior Elise Bendinelli notched a goal in the first half off an eight-meter shot and another in the second half off a pass from junior Shannon Galvin. Fellow senior Maggie Dobesh gained an important draw control which would lead to Bendinelli's second half goal at a key moment as the Wildcats fought to gain back some momentum late in the game.

Junior Galvin scored three goals against the Huskies, one off a free-position shot and caused one turnover.

Juniors Meghan Breen and Kendall Cietek each notched a goal in the Wildcats valiant effort this afternoon as sophomore Carolyn Dottino and Galvin each logged an assist.

Junior Jacklyn Fraum posted nine saves against the Huskies who were only successful on one of four free-position shots.
