Villanova, Pa. - Duquesne held off a late rally by Villanova to defeat the Wildcats 11-10 in a non-conference game played Monday afternoon at Villanova Stadium.

A late first half surge gave the Dukes control at halftime. An Erin Sakal goal at the 18:04 mark of the first half snapped a 3-3 deadlock. The Dukes then scored the game's next two goals to build a 6-3 edge at the break.

But Villanova wasted no time in rallying. Meghan Carolan and Elizabeth Firth each scored a goal in the first 2:08 of the second half to cut the Duquense advantage to 6-5. However, the Dukes then notched the game's next four goals to build a 10-5 lead with 8:36 remaining in regulation.

DePeters scored again at the 5:21 mark and then fed Julie Feddeman for a score with 2:06 left that cut the Duquesne lead to 10-9. Katie Harner then scored at the 1:54 mark to push the advantage back to 11-9. Another Pierce goal at the :34 second mark brought the Wildcats back to within one at 11-10.
