Biography
Career: Over the course of her four seasons, Bruno played in 50 games, making 23 starts. The Rumson native tallied 84 goals and 37 assists, for 121 career points. Her 37 assists places her 6th all time in program history. Bruno also recorded 35 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers and six draw controls.Â
2021: In her senior season, Bruno played in 15 games, starting each one. She finished the year second on the team with 31 goals and tied third for most assists with 11, for 42 points. She recorded 76 shots, 51 on goal with 14 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. For the week of 3/2, Bruno was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after totaling 10 points, by way of seven goals and three assists. Five of those goals came against a ranked Princeton squad.Â
2020: As a junior, Bruno started all eight games and led the team with 30 points off 17 goals and a team-high 13 assists. Her season-high point performance came at home against Princeton (2/26), where she had six points off five goals and one assist. She had three games where she recorded a hat trick or better: three goals at William & Mary (2/8), three goals at Navy (2/22) and five goals at home against Princeton (2/26). She picked up five ground balls and caused six turnovers. Bruno was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on March 2.
2019: As a sophomore, Bruno finished second on the team with 33 goals and tied for third in points with 45. In conference play, she led the team in both goals (15) and points (19). Her career high came in Villanova’s 15-13 win over Marquette (3/30) where she scored six goals and recorded an assist for seven points. She picked up a total of 14 ground balls and caused six turnovers. Bruno was named to the Weekly Honor Roll one time, earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team for her performance in the Semifinals against Denver (5/2).
2018: Bruno appeared in eight games for the Wildcats in her sophomore year. She scored three goals and earned one assist. She collected two ground balls and scored one free position goal. In the team's 17-7 win over Bucknell (2/21) she scored two of her three goals of the season. She scored her third goal of the season against Saint Joseph's (3/1) where she also recorded her only assist of the season.
Rumson Fair Haven High: 4x varsity letter winner in women's lacrosse. She made Honor Roll all four years and had 200 career goals. Played with current/former Villanova teammates Jill Swikart and Maggie Jennings.
Personal:Â Daughter of Michael and Bridget Bruno. Has one brother, AJ, and one sister, Brooke. Her interests include cooking. She chose to go to Villanova for the school's reputation, the community and its academics.
