Andrew Seaton is in his second season on the Villanova Wildcat coaching staff for 2016-17. A native of Wayne, Pa., and graduate of Radnor High School, Seaton is excited to bring his knowledge, skill set, and passion for the sport of swimming to his hometown team.
Before coming to Villanova, Seaton spent time working as a coach with the national team at the Upper Main Line YMCA.
Collegiately, Seaton swam under Coach Peter Casares at Bates College where he was a key member of the quickly rising Division III Bobcat program. As a sophomore in 2012-13, Seaton made his mark, scoring at the conference meet in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststrokes, and also swimming on both the 200 and 400 medley relays. In his senior season, Seaton helped lead his team to victories over rivals Bowdoin and Colby, the Division I program at the University of Maine, as well as the Bobcat's highest ever finish at the NESCAC meet.
Seaton also showcased his tremendous work ethic by training to compete in new events including the 50 freestyle, and both the 200 and 400 individual medleys. In his final home meet at Bates, Seaton swam the anchor leg of a pool record breaking 200 medley relay.
Seaton graduated magna cum laude from Bates College in 2015 with a double major in Mathematics and the History of Art and Visual Culture. He was elected as a member of both Phi Beta Kappa and the Bates College Scholar Athlete Society.
