Katie Scheivert

Katie Scheivert joined the softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in September 2026. 

Scheivert comes to the Wildcats after finishing her collegiate career where she spent four years with Delaware as an infielder. During her career, she was a two time Second-Team All-CUSA selection, a four time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, a Second-Team All-CAA selection in 2025 and was a part of the 2023 CAA All-Rookie Team. 

The Leesburg, Va. native played and started every game throughout her four year career with the Blue Hens, totaling 211 games across her time in Newark, Del.

At the plate, Scheivert never dropped below a .300 batting average throughout her career. She had her career best batting average of .345 during her senior year which included 59 total hits, 21 walks, three home runs as well as 11 stolen bases. Her 59 total hits ranked her ninth in Conference USA in the category. 

The career performance across her four years put Scheivert Top-10 across Delaware’s career record book. With each category being: Games played (2nd), At Bats (3rd), Games Started (2nd), 100-Hit Club (4th, 211 Total), Doubles (T-10th), RBIs (10th), Runs (T-3rd), Stolen Bases (5th) and Total bases (10th).

In addition to being part of head coach Bridget Orchard’s staff, Scheivert continues her education at Villanova in its Graduate School.
