2026: Put forth a dominant junior season to earn BIG EAST Specialist of the Year and a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honor … Selected to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and IL Midseason All-America … Was a preseason All-American in all three major publications … Tallied a team-best in caused turnovers (32) and ground balls (67) … Earned USILA Team of the Week twice in addition to five BIG EAST weekly awards … Corralled 10 ground balls at Delaware in addition to his first goal of the season … Contributed four caused turnovers and six GBs at Drexel … Had two assists and eight GB against Towson … Totaled five caused turnovers and seven ground balls vs. Georgetown … Up to fourth in Villanova history for caused turnovers per game and sixth for overall CTs.

2025: Earned All-American Honorable Mention nods from Inside Lacrosse and the USILA… Became the first player in program history to win the BIG EAST Specialist of the Year… Caused 24 turnovers and picked up 49 ground balls… Added eight goals and three assists… Became the first defender since 2013 to score twice in a game against Marquette… Shot .875% on goal, leading the team amongst players who took at least 10 shots… Scooped up at least three ground balls in eight contests, including seven against Lehigh and St. John’s… Earned USILA Team of the Week honors after scoring twice, causing two turnovers, and picking up two ground balls against Marquette… Caused three turnovers in both games against Providence and against St. John’s… His team-high 24 forced turnovers helped Villanova to their fifth consecutive season finishing within the top 20 in caused turnovers per game as a team, a mark in which they caused 9.53 per game this season… He finished the season with 1.71 caused turnovers per game, leading the BIG EAST.

2024: Appeared in eight games for the Wildcats his freshman campaign… Had two ground balls and two caused turnovers for the season whilst attempting two shots… Had a ground ball and caused turnover in the win over Lehigh on March 2.

Personal: Born October 7, 2004 … one of three children of Christina and Keith Melchionni… Sister Chase played lacrosse at the University of Virginia, father Keith played lacrosse for Duke University, mother Christina played lacrosse and field hockey for Trinity University, grandfather Bill played basketball at Villanova and had his jersey retired… Chose Villanova because of the balance between academics and athletics.
