TOWSON, Md. — The Villanova softball team lost 5-2 Wednesday to Towson at Tiger Softball Stadium.
Lexi Kobryn (L, 2-11) got the start for the 'Cats (9-34) and pitched three innings, striking out two, walking one and surrendering four runs on five hits.
Villanova began the scoring as Kobryn helped her own cause in the top of the first, hitting a two-run double to take a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers (21-20) responded in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs.
Leading 3-2, Towson added another run in the third. Holding VU scoreless after the first, the Tigers scored another run in the bottom of the sixth before ending the contest in the top of the seventh.
Notably,
Kendall Spivey went 1-3 at the plate with her first career triple. The senior hit the triple in the top of the sixth inning.
