After an 11-day layoff from competition, Villanova gets back into action this week with a pair of road matches. The Wildcats travel to South Orange, N.J. Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with Seton Hall before heading to the midwest on Saturday to face Butler at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Villanova (8-0-5, 3-0-2) looks to keep its foot on the gas as it enters the final stretch of the season. With five games left in the regular season, the 'Cats are tied for second in the conference standings with 11 points. They are on a short list of unbeaten teams left in the nation alongside No. 1 Vanderbilt (14-0-1) and UNC Wilmington (10-0-6).

The Wildcats maintained their spot at No. 22 in the TopDrawerSoccer national poll this week and are sixth in the East Region from IWSOC and United Soccer Coaches. They also moved down to 51 in the latest RPI list. The 'Cats are still in the top-five nationally with a 28 goal differential, outscoring their opponents 34-6. Only one team has scored more than one goal on them this season, drawing with Providence 3-3 the last time out. Before that, Villanova had allowed just three goals all season.

Villanova faces two of the three teams who are locked in a tie for fifth in the BIG EAST standings heading into this week.

Seton Hall (5-1-5, 1-1-3) has faced just one loss this season, falling 2-0 to Xavier on Oct. 3 to end an eight-match unbeaten streak. Since then, the Pirates have recorded a pair of shutouts with a 0-0 result at UConn on Oct. 7 and a 1-0 win over Providence this past Saturday. Similar to Villanova, the Pirates' backline has been a stout one this season. They boast the BIG EAST's best goals-against average (0.273) and save percentage (.932) and are the nation's leader with a .818 shutout percentage and just three goals allowed. They join the Wildcats in pacing the league with nine total shutouts.

Butler (6-4-4, 1-2-3) has fallen in back-to-back matches coming into Saturday with losses to Creighton (2-1) and Georgetown (2-0). Prior to the loss to Georgetown, the Bulldogs had gone four games without a loss on their home pitch. They are 2-2-3 in Indy this season and are outscoring their opponents 12-6 in those contests.

Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
