HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Villanova men's golf team battled the weather on day one of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Saturday.
Teeing off at the scheduled 9 a.m., a delay in the first round due to inclement weather in the area backed up the final portion of the second round.
As darkness fell over Seven Oaks around 7:30 p.m. play was suspended and will resume at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
Through the abbreviated second round in progress, the Wildcats shot 7-over, good for outright fifth.
Ryan Pamer, the reigning Alex Lagowitz Memorial champion, led the way for VU on the day, shooting 2-over in the first round before completing the second round 2-under with three birdies on the front 9 and two on the back nine.
Pamer sits tied for 10th heading into round three.
Brockton English shot even on the day, picking up six birdies along the way.
Luke Leonard and
Vibhav Alokam both rounded out the day 4-over and tied for 37th place.
Josh Lavely shot 5-over and is tied for 43rd.
Matt Zerfass shot 7-over and is tied for 55th heading into Sunday.
The third round will resume directly after the conclusion of the second round Sunday morning, with groups staying the same.
