TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Villanova men and women swimming and diving team fall to Florida State. Seminole men are ranked 22
th in the nation and were able to overtake the Wildcats 249-51. While Seminole women are ranked 25
th in the nation and defeated the Wildcats 232-68.
Starting off the meet was the 1000 free. Sophomore
Peri Gaguzis was able to take second with her time of 10:21.86. On the men's side, freshman
Owen Nye was also able to grab second touching the wall at 9:42.77.
Sophomore
Riley Kudlac placed second with her time of 1:53.20 in the 200 free. Freshman
Alana Leen claimed third touching in at 58.01 in the 100 back. She also placed second in the 200 back with her time of 2:01.52.
The Wildcats finished strong in the 200 fly.
Katie White touched the wall in second with a time of 2:03.27, while sophomore
Anna Farley was close being in third with a time of 2:05.65.
Justin Nowicki represented the men with his third place finish and time of 1:52.35.
White was also able to steal second in the 500 free as she touched the wall at 5:04.02. Farley had a fast finish with a third place time of 2:08.08 in the 200 IM.
Representing the 'Cats in the breaststroke is freshman
Annie Honkamp who claimed third in the 200 breast with her time of 2:21.50. Junior
Winnie Jalet took third place in the 100 breast touching the wall at 1:05.28.
The Wildcats will be back in action on January 17
th as the women's team travel to James Madison.
