Tristan Bolinsky (Gordon, Pa.) were in action for Villanova on the first day of the Hurricane Alumni Invitational at Cobb Stadium on Friday afternoon. The pair recorded season best marks in the long jump and the discus as the Wildcats started a busy weekend of competition.
Miller got started in the first of two flights in the long jump and recorded a mark of 6.95 meters on his third and final attempt. All three of his jumps were for 6.72 meters or better and Miller placed third in his flight as well as 10
th overall in the competition. His top distance of 6.95 meters was his best since he recorded a PR of 7.06 meters at Memphis last April when he was a member of the Tigers roster. Miller had opened his 2024 outdoor campaign with a mark of 6.80 meters in Orlando two weeks ago.
Bolinsky was in action in both the discus and the hammer on Friday. He recorded a distance of 46.08 meters in the discus to improve his top mark of the season by more than a full meter from the mark of 44.99 meters he recorded last month. Bolinsky also threw for 52.30 meters in the hammer which was the first event of the day on Friday morning.
Villanova will be back at it on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. with men's javelin competition. Events in both the field and on the track continue throughout the afternoon and early evening, ending with the 4x400 meter relay at 7:30 p.m. Additional members of the team will be in action locally on Saturday for the Penn Invitational at Franklin Field.
