Michael Troup (Doylestown, Pa.) and sophomore sprinter
Nicholas Mollica (Jackson, N.J.) each recorded strong results during competition in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational at Cobb Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Troup recorded a lifetime best mark of 7.34 meters and Mollica lowered his season-best and BIG EAST-leading time in the 400 meter hurdles.
This is the third straight meet to open the outdoor season that Mollica has lowered his time in the hurdles. He recorded a time of 54.03 in Saturday's race to notch the second-fastest time of his collegiate career. Mollica has led the BIG EAST performance list in the hurdles this season since opening the year with a time of 54.26 at the Penn Challenge last month. He lowered the mark to 54.20 at the Raleigh Relays a week later and cut nearly another two-tenths of a second off the time with his latest performance.
Troup extended his lifetime best in the long jump by one centimeter in surpassing the mark he had recorded indoors more than two years ago at the FastTrack National Invitational in February 2020. His mark of 7.34 meters on Saturday puts him second on this year's BIG EAST performance list and ties him for 44
th on the East Region qualifying list. The top 48 declared athletes in each individual event qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary meet next month.

Richie Bush (Lawnside, N.J.) recorded a time of 50.08 in the 400 meters and senior
Malik Cunningham (St. Andrew, Jamaica) had a mark of 14.01 meters in the triple jump.
