PHILADELPHIA – Villanova saw four top-10 performances on Friday at the 126^th Penn Relays, with the highest finish coming from the Distance Medley Relay team in sixth through the second day at Franklin Field.

The Championship of America team of Seán Donoghue, Miller Anderson, Charlie O'Donovan and Sean Dolan turned in a time of 9:32.78. Donoghue opened the race with a strong 2:33.88 in the 1200-meter leg to get Villanova into third. He handed the baton off to Anderson who went 49.08 in the 400-meter, sliding back into ninth before O'Donovan took the reins for the 800-meter. The senior hit a split time of 1:49.29 to move the 'Cats up two spots into seventh. Dolan's 1600-meter anchor came with a 3:58.54 split to put Villanova just 57-hundredths of a second shy of the top-five.

A trio of Wildcats competed in the javelin, led by an eighth-place showing for Joe DiDario at 60.79 meters, resetting his personal best twice through six throws. After starting in eighth with a 58.83 throw, he fell down to tenth on his second throw of 58.31 before bouncing back in his third attempt where his personal best 60.66-meter toss moved him up to seventh, sending him into the final. His new personal best came in his fifth throw, marking three-consecutive attempts that reached over 60 meters.

The throw also moves DiDario into fifth on the program's top-performers since 1999 list.

DiDario was joined in the top 10 of the javelin by Nick Coffey, who was just six-tenths of a meter shy of making the final, posting a 59.16 for 10^th-place. Andrew Grinnell finished 20^th with a 55.67

In the men's long jump, Michael Troup posted a 6.80 meter jump in his final attempt of the opening heats, landing him at 13^th.

Back down in the throwing area, Tristan Bolinsky opened his discus showing with a 44.74-meter throw in his first attempt. His second throw was nearly three meters better, launching to 47.47, just sixth-hundredths of a second shy of his personal best. He ended up 20^th.

In the pole vault, Jim Keys collected a 10^th-place showing, clearing the bar at 4.57 meters in his second attempt. He did not clear any of his three attempts when the bar was raised to 4.72 meters.  

Sosa Omuemu faulted in each of his three attempts in the triple jump.

The day closed with the 4x400 meter relay preliminary heats where the top nine teams would move on to Saturday's championship. Villanova's group was just shy of the qualifying mark, landing in 13^th with a time of 3:17.63.

Saturday brings the final day of action at the event with the 4xMile relay at 1:10 p.m.
