CHESTER, Pa.—Junior middle distance runner
Miller Anderson (West Hartford, Conn.) won the 800 meters with a personal best time of 1:50.21 at the Widener Invitational on Saturday afternoon. A contingent of six Villanova athletes were in competition at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium during the local meet. Anderson lowered his PR in the 800 meters for the second straight meet and was one of four Wildcats who posted personal best times on the day.
The first event for Villanova on Saturday morning was the 1500 meters in which redshirt freshman
Cole Walker (Chadds Ford, Pa.) recorded a time of 3:54.34 and finished fifth out of 89 runners. He notched his third PR of the season in the 1500 meters, lowering the time of 3:54.85 he had run at the Larry Ellis Invitational last week.
In the 400 meters later in the day, senior
Trevor Potts (Sparta, N.J.) registered a personal best time and finished ninth overall in 50.44. Graduate
Jacob Bonanotte (Arlington Heights, Ill.) came in 16
th in a field of 64 athletes with a time of 51.42.
Anderson won the 800 meters in 1:50.21 to improve on the time of 1:51.38 he recorded at Princeton last weekend. Senior
Patrick Spyhalski (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) came in eighth with a personal best time of 1:55.06 and sophomore
Chris Weeks (Springfield, Va.) finished 14
th in 1:55.93. Wildcats freshman
Devon Comber (Ambler, Pa.) was in action at Widener as an unattached runner and posted a personal best time of 1:53.43.
