VILLANOVA, Pa. – The women's volleyball teams are heading to the Midwest this weekend for two BIG EAST matches. This will be the first two road conference games for Villanova. The Wildcats will first play at the DePaul Blue Demons on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET and at the No. 24 Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET. DePaul is 2-11 (0-2) and lost their first two conference games to Creighton and Providence. The Wildcats have won the previous three meeting against the Blue Demons.

The Golden Eagles are 10-4 (1-1), they defeated Providence but lost to Creighton. Junior outside hitter Allie Barber leads the BIG EAST in kills with 212 and was named to this week's BIG EAST Honor Roll. Last season Villanova and Marquette split their two matches with both matches going five sets.

The Wildcats enter the weekend with a record of 9-6 and 2-1 in the BIG EAST after defeating St. John's earlier this week 3-2. Regan Lough averages 5.62 digs per set which leads the BIG EAST.

Senior middle blocker Amanda Pedersen-Henry only needs eight more kills for 1,000 career kills. Against St. John's she had a season-high 17 kills.

This past Tuesday, two Wildcats were named to the BIG EAST Weekly awards. Freshman outside hitter Clare Delaplane was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. She had a season-high 22 kills against Georgetown last Saturday. Delaplane averaged 4.00 kills and 2.33 digs per set over the two matches last weekend.

Junior libero Regan Lough was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Lough averaged a league-high 6.33 digs per set. She had 30 digs against Georgetown and it was her third match this season with 30 or more digs.
