VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's volleyball team welcomes the Georgetown Hoyas this weekend to Jake Nevin Field House for family weekend.
Head coach Josh Steinbach on the Hoyas, "Georgetown is a rapidly improving team and I think it'll be a tough and important match. Coming off a win I think it's important we play well to build some momentum as we get into a tough stretch of league play with three matches next week."
Villanova and Georgetown enter the weekend with a record of 8-5. Georgetown is currently on a four-game winning streak. Both teams won their BIG EAST opener on Wednesday night with the Wildcats defeating Seton Hall 3-1 and the Hoyas beat St. John's 3-2. The Wildcats have won the previous three meetings in the series.
Earlier this week, the Wildcats defeated Seton Hall 3-1 in their BIG EAST opener. Freshman outside hitter Clare Delaplane recorded her second double-double in a row with 12 digs and a season-high 22 kills. Junior libero Regan Lough had 27 digs, marking her third game in a row with 25 or more digs.
