Villanova Starts BIG EAST Play Wednesday vs. Seton Hall

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's volleyball team will start BIG EAST conference play this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. against the Seton Hall Pirates at Jake Nevin Field House.

Head coach Josh Steinbach on the BIG EAST opener, "huge match for us here in Nevin. It's always a battle with our two teams. I know we are looking forward to being back at home to Jam the Jake."

The Wildcats come into the match with a record of 7-5. Villanova looks to bounce back after three tough matches at the Sugar Bowl Tournament in New Orleans last weekend.

Seton Hall enters the match with a record of 5-8. The Pirates have played in three tournaments so far this season with wins over Virginia Commonwealth and Columbia.

Last time these two teams met was in November of last season. Villanova defended their home court in a 3-1 victory over Seton Hall.

 In the BIG EAST preseason poll, the Pirates were predicted to finish fifth just behind the Wildcats at fourth.

The promotion for the BIG EAST opener is JAM the JAKE night with double bonus lottery points and free shirts while supplies last for students.
