VILLANOVA, Pa. – The women's volleyball team will travel out to the Midwest this weekend to play the Xavier Musketeers and the Butler Bulldogs.
The Wildcats will first play at Xavier on Friday night at 7:00 p.m ET. The game will be broadcasted on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Then Villanova will travel to play Butler on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. ET. The match against the Bulldogs will be broadcasted on Facebook Live. Both matches will have live stats available to view.
The Wildcats enter the weekend with a record of 10-7 and 3-2 in BIG EAST matches. Villanova split their two conference matches last weekend. Winning at DePaul and losing at Marquette.
Xavier has a record of 4-12 and 2-3 in the BIG EAST. Last season the Wildcats split the two matches against the Musketeers with both teams winning on their home court.
Butler's record is 5-12 and 2-3 in conference matches. The Bulldogs lead the BIG EAST in blocks per set, averaging 2.93. Last year Villanova and Butler each defended their home court in the two matches with the Wildcats sweeping the Bulldogs at Jake Nevin Field House.
Earlier this week the BIG EAST named junior libero Regan Lough to the Weekly Honor Roll. It was Lough's second week in a row and third time this season being named to the Weekly Honor Roll. She leads the BIG EAST and is 13th in the NCAA in digs per set with 5.52.
The Wildcats will return home to Jake Nevin Field House next Friday against Providence at 7:00 p.m. and vs. Creighton next Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
