VILLANOVA, Pa. – The women's volleyball team travels to Georgetown to take on the Hoyas Friday night. The match begins at 5:00 p.m. ET and live stats and live stream will be available for the match.
Head coach Josh Steinbach on the Hoyas, "Big weekend for us. Excited to try to exact some revenge down there in Georgetown. I know our kids are excited and looking forward to playing."
The Wildcats and Hoyas faced off earlier this season at Jake Nevin Field House with Georgetown winning 3-2. Villanova took the first two sets but Georgetown rallied back and won the final three sets. Three Wildcats had double-digit kills in the match and junior libero Regan Lough had 30 digs.
The Wildcats come into the match with a record of 12-11 and 5-6 in the conference. Villanova is currently tied for fifth place with Xavier in the BIG EAST standings. Last weekend the Wildcats went 1-1 on the road. The Wildcats lost to St. John's 3-0 and defeated Seton Hall 3-0.
Georgetown enters the match with a record of 13-10 and 6-5 in the BIG EAST. The Hoyas are currently fourth in the BIG EAST. Last weekend Georgetown lost both of their matches. They lost on the road to Seton Hall 3-0 and at St. John's 3-2.
Earlier this week the BIG EAST named junior setter Emma Decker to their Weekly Honor Roll. Decker led the conference last week with averaging 12.0 assists per set.
The Wildcats will return to Jake Nevin Field House next weekend to take on Marquette and DePaul. Both matches start at 8:00 p.m.
