Dec. 10, 2016 BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore Michael Morrow (Danbury, Conn.) and senior Peter Winslow (Stratham, N.H.) completed the first four events of the heptathlon at the Fast Times Before Finals Meet at Lehigh on Friday evening. The two-day meet at Rauch Field House got underway with the multi-events, while the majority of the meet will take place starting on Saturday morning. With three events left in the heptathlon, Morrow and Winslow rank seventh and ninth, respectively, out of the 14 athletes taking part in the competition.
Morrow has scored 2,302 points thus far in the heptathlon. His best event was the long jump, in which he placed fifth in the field with a mark of 5.90 meters. He also came in sixth in the high jump with a height of 1.79 meters. His other marks on Friday night included a throw of 9.56 meters in the shot put and a time of 7.67 seconds in the 60 meters.
Winslow is close behind Morrow with a score of 2,216 points going into the second day. He came in sixth in the long jump with a measurement of 5.83 meters and cleared 1.76 meters to finish seventh in the high jump. He was also eighth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.62 and recorded a throw of 7.62 meters in the shot put.
Competition in the heptathlon continues on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
