The Villanova volleyball team (13-19, 6-11 BIG EAST) fell in three sets to the Creighton Blue Jays with scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-10. The Wildcats will look to finish the 2014 season on Sunday with a 2 p.m. afternoon match against Georgetown in Washington D.C.
Kept to their lowest attack percentage of the season, the Wildcats were unable to gain any momentum against a BlueJay defense that posted 60 digs and seven team blocks.
Junior libero Michelle Adams led the Wildcat defense with 16 digs against an aggressive Creighton offense that posted a solid .302 hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter Lauren Carpenter led the Villanova offense after posting five kills on 26 attempts. Fellow outside hitter, junior Colleen Hickey posted three while junior Brittany Rembert and sophomore Michaela Berendt each added two.
Freshman middle blocker Cara Cunningham logged one solo block and two block assists.
As a team, the Wildcats posted 14 kills with 18 errors on 99 attempts, 37 digs, 14 assists and four total team blocks.
