The Villanova team was unable to reach .500 after a three-set loss to the St. John's Red Storm with scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-21. The Wildcats (12-16, 5-8 BIG EAST) will enjoy a short break until the play they travel to South Orange, N.Y. to take on the Seton Hall Pirates at 7 p.m.
Junior outside hitter Lauren Carpenter continues to inch closer to her 1000th kill mark as she logged 14 kills on 47 attempts with only 4 errors for an attack percentage of .270. Sophomore Michaela Berendt logged eight kills against the Red Storm on 19 attempts with only two errors for an attack percentage of .316. Carpenter also posted a career and game high four service aces.
As a team, the Wildcats posted 32 kills on 108 with 20 errors for an overall attack percentage of .111. With four players in negative attack percentage, Villanova struggled against a Red Storm that posted a solid .248.
Senior Allie DiBernardo posted 17 assists five digs to aid starting junior libero Michelle Adams defensively. Adams added 16 digs to her stat sheet.
The Wildcats will be back in action next weekend with a single match against the Seton Hall Pirates (22-6, 10-3 BIG EAST) in a Saturday night match against with the first serve set at 7 p.m. ET.
