Chicago, Ill. -The Villanova volleyball team improved their record to 11-13 (4-5 BIG EAST) after a Saturday night, four-set match against the DePaul Blue Demons (3-18, 1-8 BIG EAST). The Wildcats trumped the Blue Demons with scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-17. Villanova will be back in action to kick off homecoming weekend with a Friday night match against the Butler Bulldogs at 7 p.m. at the Jake Nevin Field House.

Three Wildcats recorded double-digits kills tonight with the best team hitting percentage of the year (.345). Junior Colleen Hickey tied her career high in kills with 15 this evening against DePaul. Her aggressive hitting ties her performance from last year when Hickey posted 15 kills against SHU in early October. Her aggressive hitting also led to a shattering of her former attack percentage as she posted a career high .429 in this evening's match.

Freshman Cara Cunningham continues to make waves on the Wildcat offense as she posted 14 kills against the DePaul defense, shattering her previous record high 12 kills from earlier in the season versus La Salle. Cunningham also posted seven blocks against an aggressive DePaul offense that posted 132 attacks against the Wildcats.

Junior Lauren Carpenter also continues to inch closer to her 1000th kill with 12 kills against the Blue Demons, leaving only 52 kills til she makes her mark. Senior Molly O'Neil also posted a season high seven kills against the Blue Demons.

Allie DiBernardo aided the Wildcat offense with 36 assists and 10 digs, while starting libero, junior Michelle Adams, posted 15 kills to the Wildcat stat page.

The Wildcats posted terrific offense after dropping the first set against the Blue Demons with an attack percentage of .438 in the second set and .421 in the third to power over the DePaul defense.

"We played well offensively tonight," said Head Coach Josh Steinbach. " Cara (Cunningham) was fantastic both offensively and deffensively for us. It was a well-needed road win and we are looking forward to being home next weekend."

In total, the Wildcats posted 65 kills, 63 assists, 57 digs and nine team blocks.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday night at 7 p.m. with a match against the Butler Bulldogs to kick off Homecoming festivities at Villanova.
