Villanova, PA - The Wildcats made the short trip to the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, and came away with a 3-0 win over the Quakers. Three Wildcats were in double figures in kills to lead a balanced attack.
Alona Cherkez led the Wildcats with 13 kills while seniors Adrian Semrau and Kelly Ludwig each added 10. Semrau and Emily Brown each had four service aces as well for the Wildcats, to account for all eight aces for the Wildcats. Freshman Chelsea Graman got an opportunity to play most of the match at the setter position, and ended up with 33 assists on the night.
As a team, Villanova outhit the Quakers .260 to .147. The Quakers were never able to get any offense going, with their highest single game hitting percentage being .172.
Villanova will get back into BIG EAST Conference play on Saturay when they host the West Virginia Mountaineers starting at 2 PM.
