Villanova Men's Lacrosse Defeats Drexel

Villanova, Pa. - The Villanova men's lacrosse team hosted the Drexel University Dragons today and prevailed 13-7. The win ups the Wildcats record to 4-2 in 2000, while Drexel falls to 0-3.

The first half was a low-scoring affair with the two team's deadlocked at 3-3 at halftime. Villanova got two first quarter goals by senior midfielder Chris Larson that gave the 'Cats a 2-0 lead after one, but the visiting Dragons outscored the host squad 3-1 in the second quarter to tie the game at 3-3 at intermission.

The third quarter saw the Wildcats erupt for seven goals, to only three for Drexel. The 'Cats scored the quarters first four goals, including Andrew Bogle's tally just nine seconds into the quarter. In the fourth, Villanova remained strong as the defense took control. The Wildcats won the quarter 3-1, and took the contest 13-7.

The Wildcats next game will be Saturday, April 1, at 1:00pm as they travel to Sacred Heart.
