Villanova Men's Lacrosse Downs Dartmouth

In men's lacrosse action at Villanova Stadium on Saturday, March 18, the Villanova Wildcats won for the third-straight time with an impressive 14-9 win over the Dartmouth Big Green. With the win, Villanova improves to 3-2 on the season, while Dartmouth falls to 2-1 on the year.

Leading 8-5 midway through the third quarter, the Wildcats scored four unanswered goals to take a commanding 12-5 lead with just 7:52 to play in the fourth quarter. Two of the four goals were tallied by sophomore Justin Marks (Glenmoore, Pa.) who scored four goals on the afternoon. After Scott Roslyn scored for Dartmouth to make it 12-6, Eric Dauer (Woodbridge, Virg.) and Marks scored back-to-back goals, giving the `Cats a 14-6 advantage with 4:18 remaining.

Both teams scored twice in the first quarter, before Villanova began the second stanza by recording four-straight goals to open up a 6-2 lead with 8:39 left until intermission. The two teams would go to halftime with Villanova leading 7-3.

Dauer had a strong game for Villanova with four goals and an assist, while senior Jack McTigue (Bethpage, N.Y.) registered four assists. McTigue now has tallied 16 assists in five games. Senior Chris Larson (New Milford, Conn.) and junior Andrew Bogle (Wilton, Conn.) scored two goals each. Junior Matt Wilk (Bound Brook, N.J.) earned the win in goal for Villanova with eight saves.

Dartmouth received two goals each from Greg Edell and Connor Price.

Villanova returns to action on Saturday, March 25 when they host Drexel at noon.
