Volleyball Defeats Buffalo

BOZEMAN, MT. ? In the first match of the Holiday Inn Classic, hosted by Montana State University, the Villanova Wildcats defeat the University of Buffalo, 15-12, 10-15, 15-12, 15-5, earning their first victory of the season.

In game one, the Wildcats jumped out to an 8-5 lead and never looked back, taking the game 15-12. In the second, Buffalo showed some life, as the two teams battled back and forth to a 10-10 tie. Building up momentum, the Bills went of a 5-0 run to end the game 15-10. Games three and four proved to be all Villanova as the ?Cats rattled off 10 straight points to finish the fourth and final match, taking home the 3-1 win.

Leading Villanova was Tina Zitterich who tallied 19 kills and Stacey Moline who had a season-high 57 assists. Breen Eddinger knocked down 18 kills and added 12 digs in the win. For Buffalo, Rebecca Meade recorded 14 kills and a game-high 20 digs.
