Storrs, Conn. - The Villanova women?s volleyball team traveled to Storrs, Conn. to take on the Huskies in Big East Conference action. After a dominant showing in the match?s first game, the Wildcats lost three straight close games to the home squad and were defeated three games to one. With the loss, Villanova?s 1999 record falls to 9-17 overall and 0-8 in the Big East.
The first game saw ?Nova come out blazing as the ?Cats built a 1-0 lead in the match with a 15-8 triumph. After losing game two 15-12, the third stanza was even closer, but Villanova was nipped 17-15. The fourth and final game was taken by the Huskies, 15-11.
Breen Eddinger continued her stellar play as she had a match-high 18 kills, while also tallying 10 digs and a team-high seven blocks. Senior Stacey Moline led the Wildcats with a 45-assist effort.
Villanova?s next contest will be on Saturday, November 6 at 4:00 p.m. against Georgetown University.
