Volleyball Falls in Four to Seton Hall

Traveling to South Orange, N.J., on Sunday, Oct. 3, the Villanova University volleyball team lost in four games to Seton Hall, 3-1 (7-15, 15-8, 6-15, 9-15), at Walsh Gymnasium. With the loss, the Wildcats' record falls to 8-10 overall and 0-2 in the Big East. The Pirates' record improves to 10-5 and 1-1 in conference play with the win.

For Villanova in the loss, junior Breen Eddinger and freshman Leah Matthews led the team with 12 kills apiece. Junior Ruth Ann Blankenheim recorded 11 kills and added a team-high 16 digs.

The Pirates had five of their six starters in doubles figures in kills. Jennifer Mumby and Kadri Kruus each tallied 13 kills, with Kruus adding a game-high 18 digs. In double figures in kills as well, were Paige Ellertson with 12 and Kari Belin and Tara Brooks with 11.

The Wildcats will get back into action on Wednesday, Oct. 6, hosting Fairfield University at 7:30 p.m.
