Krista Chmielewski

Krista Chmielewski is the Associate Director of Academic Support, a position she's served in since August 2021. Chmielewski functions as the primary academic contact for football, women's basketball, men's & women's swimming & diving and softball.

Chmielewski started at Villanova in January of 2007, spending time as an intern and the interim assistant director of OAS while in graduate school. Krista then spent two years as an academic counselor for student-athletes and the primary advisor for SAAC at the University of Maryland before returning to Villanova as the full-time assistant director in April 2011.

Krista has been involved on a number of different campus committees and has assumed quite a few roles within Academic Support outside of Villanova. An active member of the N4A (National Association of Academic Support and Student-Athlete Development Professionals) since 2007 and a current member of the President's Advisory Council, Chmielewski has been the chair person of the Model Practices Committee and served on the Model Practices Awards Committee for a number of years; and she has also been a member of the Legislative Affairs Committee. Additionally, Krista has been a resume reviewer for young professionals within the industry and has been an Academic Integrity Consultant. In 2016, she participated in the Leader/Manager track of PDI within the N4A.

Krista received a Bachelor's of Science in Digital Media from Drexel University, where she was a four-year varsity swimmer. Following a number of years in the business world, Chmielewski decided to combine her passions for athletics & education and attended Temple University to earn a Master's of Education with a focus in Sport and Recreation Administration.
