Blake Burkey

Blake Burkey, who came to Villanova in 2018, was named to his current position in the summer of 2022. In this capacity, Burkey is responsible for the planning, oversight and management of all Athletics facilities while also overseeing all aspects of the department’s equipment operations. He currently serves as the equipment contact for the men's basketball and golf teams.
 
From 2018-22 Burkey served as an Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Operations, where he developed new policies and procedures, including a standardized procurement and apparel workflow. He also had oversight of athletic brand guidelines ensuring all team uniforms, equipment and apparel aligned with Villanova’s identity. 
 
Prior to coming to Villanova, Burkey served as director of equipment operations at Saint Joseph’s University from 2015-18. In addition to equipment oversight, Burkey served as event administrator for home varsity events and conference championships. He also spent five years on the Athletics and Facilities staff at Rider University (2010-15) and two years at the University of Pennsylvania (2008-10). 
 
A former Division I baseball player, Burkey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Mount St. Mary’s University and a Masters of Science degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College. 
 
Blake and his wife Rebeccas have three children: Marilyn, Vivian, and Joseph.Â
