Ashley Montecchio Vero is the assistant director of club sports and recreation, a position she's served in since 2023. In this role, Vero manages all aspects of the 31-team club sports program, as well as managing the marketing efforts for the recreation department and assisting with group exercise registration & fitness center student staff oversight.
Vero joined the Villanova staff in August 2016, serving as a coordinator until her promotion in 2023.
Prior to her time at VU, Vero spent a year as the recreational programs coordinator for Harvard University, managing finances for 65 club sports teams.Â
Ashley received a Bachelor of Arts from Rosemont College in 2013 where she was a highly decorated basketball player, earning CSAC Player of the Year, All-Region Second Team and All-American Honorable Mention while leading DIII nationally in scoring.Â
She earned her first Master's degree in Sports Management in 2015 from Ulster University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she was the team captain for women's basketball. In 2023, Vero completed a Master of Business Administration at Villanova, serving as co-president of the Graduate Student Association.
Vero is a member of both the Delaware County and Aston Township Sports Hall of Fame and also serves on the Rosemont Alumni Board of Directors.
Ashley resides in Haverford, Pa., with her husband Ryan and three kids Theo, Octavia and Pierce.
