Villanova Univeristy Athletics

John Jayakumar serves as the assistant coach for Villanova women's tennis, joining the staff in 2024. 

In 2026, Jayakumar was honored as the ITA Assistant Coach of the Year in the Northeast Region, one of 13 recipients nationwide.

The hometown Philadelphia coach has over 14 years of coaching experience, guiding players of all levels from beginners to tournament level juniors to college level players.

Jayakumar graduated from Erskine College in South Carolina, where he was named Team MVP for a program that finished 40th nationally. He was nationally ranked #23 and regionally #15 in Division II in doubles, and earned CVAC Honorable Mention.
