Villanova Career: Made his way into the program’s All-Time Top Performers Lists in two events during debut season, sitting fifth in both the 1000 Free (9:29.64) and 1650 Free (15:47.18) … His 9:29.64 time in the 1000 Free marks the eighth fastest time in program history.
2024-25: Debut season saw him break into the program’s Top Performers List in the 1000 Free (9:29.64) and 1650 Free (15:47.18) … Season bests: 200 Free (1:41.44), 500 Free (4:31.74) and 1650 Free (15:47.18); BIG EAST Championships (2/24-27): Finished sixth in the 1650 Free (15:47.18) … Landed Consolation Final spots in the 200 Free and 500 Free, finishing 14th (1:41.44) and ninth (4:32.73), respectively; Drexel (1/31): Led Villanova in the 500 Free, finishing third (4:36.55); West Virginia (1/25): Saw a third-place showing in the 1650 Free (15:56.35); Florida State (1/8): Led Villanova in the 1000 Free against the No. 22 Seminoles, touching second (9:42.77); WVU Invitational (11/20-22): Third in the 1650 Free (15:47.32); Providence (11/9): Won the 1000 Meter Free in 9:44.03; La Salle (11/8): Swept the distance races, winning the 1000 Free in 9:45.62 and the 500 Free in 4:46.32; NJIT (11/1): Winner in the 1000 Free (9:41.09) and third in the 500 Free (4:44.07); Rider (10/30): Won both the 1000 Free (9:29.64) and the 500 Free (4:40.48); Georgetown (10/26): Touched first in the 1000 Free (9:38.98) and 500 Free (4:41.41).
 
High School: Nye was a four-year varsity swimmer at Burlington Christian Academy, earning Most Valuable Swimmer and NCISAA Division II All-State honors all four years and Tri-Tac All-Conference honors four times. He holds all individual and relay team records for the team, as well. He swam with the Greensboro Community YMCA for three years where he was a Junior Nationals qualifier, five-time YMCA Nationals medalist and swam at the Open Water Junior Nationals. Nye was honored academically numerous times in high school, earning USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors twice and was a National Merit Scholar. He was an AP Scholar with Distinction, an Academic Excellence Award recipient and was Junior Marshal at graduation.
Personal: Born 08/19/2006 in Burlington, N.C. … Is the son of Ben and Mindy Nye.
