Edina: Lettered in swimming all four years, captaining the crew during his senior year … Ran track and field, earning a letter in his senior year while also playing tennis as a sophomore, but season was cut short due to the beginning of the COVID pandemic … Five-time All-American throughout his high school career, twice as both a sophomore and senior while adding another as a junior … Three-time Minnesota All-State selection from 2020 through 2022 … Tabbed an Academic All-American in 2022 using cumulative GPA throughout career … 200 Medley Relay champion in 2022, also setting the school’s record … Landed third in the 50 Free at the state high school meet … Helped Edina High School to a four-peat at state.
Personal: Born Sept. 8, 2003 in Austin, Texas … One of four children to Catherine and Paul Thurk … Has three siblings, Jack, Ashly and Willy … Enjoys playing with his dog, hanging out with his grandpa and enjoying the two-month Minnesota summer before it becomes a frozen tundra the rest of the year … Chose Villanova for the campus, size of the school, location, being able to swim with a tightly knit group and pursue his preferred degree at a competitive, well-known University … Majoring in Business.
